In the world of Naruto, ninjas defeat their enemies with a variety of impressive tactics. Some excel in Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, but Taijutsu remains a classic form of combat that is often underestimated, despite being a powerful martial art.
Here is a list of the best Taijutsu users in Naruto and those who still have much to learn:
1) Gaï Maito
Gaï Maito is the undisputed master of Taijutsu in Naruto. Faced with his inability in Ninjutsu, Gaï dedicated himself to rigorous training. He learned how to use the Eight Gates from his father, who created them. His combat style is similar to that of Rock Lee, and both of them are extremely skilled.
2) Hashirama Senju
Hashirama was on par with veterans like Madara in Taijutsu. He could also use Genjutsu to plunge his target into eternal darkness.
3) Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto’s skills in Ninjutsu and Taijutsu are considered exceptional. His Taijutsu is as strong as his Ninjutsu, and he was able to match Momoshiki Otsutsuki in a close combat fight.
4) Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha is a highly skilled ninja capable of facing members of the Otsutsuki clan. His Sharingan gives him a distinct advantage in close combat.
5) Kaguya Otsutsuki
When Kaguya Otsutsuki, the master of Taijutsu, arrived on Earth many years ago to cultivate a chakra fruit, she teamed up with Isshiki Otsutsuki. Fans were introduced to an Otsutsuki character for the first time at the end of Naruto Shippuden, and her power truly amazed the fanbase.
Special Mention – Chen
Chen was primarily known for his incredible Taijutsu skills. At one point, he was able to fight on equal footing with Gaï Maito.
Now, let’s take a look at five Naruto characters who need to improve their Taijutsu skills:
1) Temari
Most skilled ninjas can still hold their own with basic Taijutsu or by throwing shuriken or kunai. However, characters like Temari, who rely on wind techniques, are at a serious disadvantage without jutsu.
2) Ino
Ino Yamanaka shows some Taijutsu skills, but it’s not her true forte. It can be clearly seen that she is not a reference in close combat.
3) Sakura
Sakura has acquired Taijutsu skills under the guidance of Tsunade Senju. However, she is not as proficient in Taijutsu as Gaï Maito or Sasuke, even though it is technically her field of expertise. It’s a shame that Naruto didn’t make Sakura an expert in Taijutsu, the ultimate reference.
4) Hinata
Hinata has shown great determination to improve her skills, but she hasn’t demonstrated a level of Taijutsu as competent as others in the series.
5) Hidan
Hidan, who was immortal, used his opponent’s blood to control and kill them. Despite this, Hidan was not up to par most of the time.
In Naruto, Taijutsu is an essential part of the ninja world. Taijutsu practitioners like Gaï Maito and Rock Lee demonstrate extraordinary strength and power through perseverance and dedication. Even though characters like Naruto and Sasuke are extremely talented in other ways, they still have a long way to go to match the level of Taijutsu mastery shown by the best in the series.
